Welcome to Sensory Storytime at the public library. Sensory Storytimes are small-group programs designed to create a calm and welcoming environment for children who may not yet thrive in traditional library storytime settings. This is created especially for young children to connect with books, props like scarves and toys, and visual schedules designed for toddlers and babies who benefit from additional sensory input or live with autism and other developmental differences. Each week-to-week session led by a librarian invites caregivers to bring their family, share songs and stories, wiggle with fidgets and bubbles, dot the floor space with movement, and feel the power of story in an environment with support for disability, outreach, and early skill development. Welcome your child into a safe space where colour, sense, and play meet the joy of reading!
