Welcome to the VPL Foundation

Leave a legacy of growth, learning and transformation with a gift in your Will to the Vancouver Public Library Foundation. You can have a lasting impact on millions of people each year, who because of you, will have a place to discover, create, and share ideas.

Choosing to leave a gift to VPLF in your Will is an opportunity to enrich people’s lives, make a contribution to the future, and leave a lasting memory.

Legacy gifts allow you to take full advantage of tax considerations and minimize the impact on your family’s security and lifestyle, while maximizing the impact of your philanthropy.

How to Leave a legacy

We recommend speaking with your financial advisor or lawyer to start preparing your Will, or to add a gift in your existing Will to Vancouver Public Library Foundation.

In order to include a gift in your Will to VPL Foundation, you will need to give your Estate professional our legal and official name and address, which is:

Vancouver Public Library Foundation
350 West Georgia Street
Vancouver, BC V6B 6B1

Charitable Registration Number: 88075 5285 RR0001

What Can Your Legacy Do?

No matter the size of your gift, YOU can profoundly impact the future for everyone who uses the library.

Provides meaningful community connections, literacy support and a nurturing environment to vulnerable moms and their young babies in the Mother Goose program in one neighbourhood for 8 months.

Provides 48 sessions of Man in the Moon, where dads or male caregivers and their babies can participate in fun family bonding experiences, while also being supported in the development of crucial pre-literacy skills.

Supports both leadership in teens and STEM skills in youth through Coding Buddies, where teen mentors teach kids in grades 2-4 how to code. Your support would fully fund 220 sessions across Vancouver.

Provides essential literacy support to vulnerable children in daycares in the Downtown Eastside, Strathcona and Mount Pleasant neighbourhoods through 810 sessions of Alligator Pie; developing the foundations for future success in school and later in life.

Supports teen mentorship and makes reading fun for children through Reading Buddies, where reading skills are nurtured through teen ‘Big Buddies’ teaching kid ‘Little Buddies’ through 1,600 sessions throughout Vancouver.

Will touch the lives of millions of people each year who are looking for a place that is truly accessible to everyone, no matter their background or life circumstance. In just one year, nearly 7 million people will access programs, materials and spaces that you will have made possible.
