You can honour former Director and City Librarian Madeleine (Madge) Aalto with a gift to the Vancouver Public Library.
Madge shared her passion and leadership with VPL serving as its Director for 14 years from 1988 to 2002. During her tenure, Madge helped realize the vision of a new Central Library at Robson and Homer, was instrumental in establishing VPL’s Renfrew branch, and ushered in significant technological advancements—such as internet-enabled public computers and a transition from card catalogues to online library services.
Madge will be missed by our library family. Thank you for celebrating her love of Vancouver Public Library with a gift in her memory.
