What is Library Giving Day?
A movement spanning North America involving over 100 libraries and thousands of people.
More than well-loved books, libraries promote lifelong learning, connect people to technology, and advance knowledge for everyone, regardless of background or life circumstance. On April 10th, across Canada and the United States, patrons and library-lovers will join together to support their local libraries – raising funds for exciting programs and sharing stories about the impact that the library has on their communities.
We invite you to join Vancouver Public Library for Library Giving Day! From now through April 10th, our goal is to raise $10,000 in support of the initiatives of VPL. Online and in your local VPL branch, you can make a gift or share a story about how your library has impacted your life! Your generous support will help to keep your local library a vibrant place for your community to discover, learn and create. This is your chance to show your love for YOUR neighbourhood branch.
How can you be a part of it?
Donate and celebrate so that VPL can continue to offer the vital programs and services that help us all become so much more!
Tell us your library story or make a gift today.
You can also join the conversation and share your library story on Twitter and Facebook #LibraryGivingDay #ILoveVPL @VPLFoundation. Be sure to check out our social media for inspiring library stories over the coming weeks. Share your story with us online and you will automatically be entered to WIN A FREE COPY of Susan Orlean’s The Library Book. Winner will be drawn the day after Library Giving Day taking place April 10th.
