The 7,500-square-foot Inspiration Lab on the central library’s third floor is now open to the public. Featuring high-performance computers, analog-to-digital conversion, sound studios, video editing and self-publishing software and more.
This free, public space has been designed to nurture the talent and creativity of our city and be a hot spot where the next generation of Vancouver’s digital and creative community can get its start.
Programs for the Lab are already in motion with:
Podcast 101 – planning and creating a podcast
Intro to Audio Recording and Editing – digitization in studio booths for sound
Teen Video Lab – learn how to edit and publish your finished video
This is kind of a creative playground where anyone can experiment with cool technology, without having to buy their own – and that is very enabling. By enabling more young people to achieve their dreams by doing what they want to do, I think we’ll truly be on the path to something great.
- Sam Chandola, founder & CEO of Victory Square Games
